February 20, 2013 By: veniceblogger Category: Venice

Venice is one of those cities that, once there, you do not want to leave. The way the city has urbanely developed, occupying a lagoon that interconnects through countless bridges, and where the architectural wonders lurk in every corner, makes this place north of Italy one of the most beautiful in the world. Not coincidentally, Venice and its lagoon are among the world heritage of UNESCO.

So those who love history, architecture and culture in general, cannot give up a trip to the city of canals. Vintage lovers can find solace here, because between a lane and another, there are numerous shops and vintage boutiques.

For many people the meaning of “vintage” is still a mystery, or rather, not entirely clear. Take into Consideration that in 2011 the word “vintage” was the sixth most searched term on Google! Many confuse it with the second-hand clothes, but that is not true. What distinguish a vintage piece of a garment is the second-hand value, uniqueness and rarity that it has acquired over time. It is like wine; the longer it has been aging (the right way) the best it becomes. In fact the term “vintage” comes from the world of wine and indicates the wine produced in the best vintages and, thanks to its aging, has acquired value.

Now that we are all clear of the meaning of “vintage”, let´s see what sites are in Venice where you can buy vintage clothing or accessories, or whatever:
